Ms Meyer manages the Highlands House Occupational Therapy Department, which consists of two Occupational Therapists, an Occupational Therapy Assistant, as well as the Lifestyle Centre.  Ms Meyer has a special interest in Dementia and Psychogeriatrics and works largely on the Special Care Unit that houses residents with cognitive difficulties.  In addition, she assists the Senior Social Worker with pre-admission home visits to members of the community who are seeking placement at Highlands House.  Ms Meyer is currently assisting management in setting up a Multi-Sensory Room which will service residents from the Special Care Unit.

Ms Meyer is pursuing her Masters in Gerontology through the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom via distance learning.  Ms Meyer finds working with the elderly extremely rewarding and thoroughly enjoys hearing the interesting stories of times gone by that the residents are always happy to share with her.
