Highlands House · Yom Kippur 5787
This Yom Kippur,
remember them.
In the Days of Awe, we remember those who are no longer at our table.
The Days of Awe
Between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur come the ten days when we look back, and forward, and hold close the ones we have loved and lost.
On Yom Kippur we say Yizkor — the prayer of remembrance — and the names of parents, partners and friends are spoken aloud among a community that will not forget them.
A home since 1916
A home — not a facility.
For 110 years, Highlands House has cared for members of Cape Town’s Jewish community. Behind every meal, every Shabbat candle, every hand held, is a team for whom the residents here are family.
To remember is to care — for those who came before, and for those who are here now.
In their memory
Give in memory of someone you love.
This Yom Kippur, make a gift to Highlands House in memory of a loved one. If you wish, note their name — it will be held in remembrance here, over Yizkor. Every gift, of any size, is care made real for the residents who live here today.
A gift of any amount. Noting a name is optional — give quietly if you prefer.
Thank you for your gift.
Their name is remembered here, with love.
